Life on Campus
Our campus is conveniently located right off of Convict Hill Road. Nestled on 13 acres of land, we have two buildings and large green spaces to explore. Children have picnic tables to eat at, astroturfed playgrounds to play on and amazing outdoor classrooms. We believe children should play outside every day, therefore each class gets the opportunity to play outside two times a day!
In addition to class time, we offer many different clubs throughout the school year. Each club runs for 6 weeks and lets children explore topics that excite them. In the past, children have enjoyed cooking club, art club, science club and car club!
Cypress History
The Cypress School started in 2019. What was once only a dream, the school was opened to provide a Christian school in South Austin where children would be able to wonder, play, and explore. We value play, hands-on education, as well as provide a rigorous curriculum where our students thrive.
Cypress Pedagogy
At The Cypress School, we are a Christian, co-ed school in South Austin. We are student centered and use evidence-based curriculum. We combine traditional, STEAM, Montessori, Reggio and classical education. This in turn allows our teachers to use the best of what is available in the field of education. We use hands-on Montessori materials which innately teach our children many skills.
We design our classroom spaces with our students in mind. We take great pride in teaching students to think critically. We encourage children to ask questions, dig deep into their learning, and provide many opportunities to communicate, collaborate, and build a strong community.
While we are an academically rigorous school, we know that grades are not everything, and we strive to develop our students' character, social and emotional skills as well.
Cypress Beliefs
The Cypress School is a Christian School. We believe:
- The Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts.
- There is one true, good, and living God who eternally exists in three persons—the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- God created men and women in His image and created all things for His glory.
- All have sinned and rebelled against God.
- Jesus came to earth, lived a perfect life, and died an atoning death—conquering sin, Satan, and death by His resurrection.
- God alone is the Author of Salvation.
- The Holy Spirit gives gifts to those who are in Christ.
- The church consists of all who have trusted Jesus for their eternal salvation.
- Heaven and hell are real places.
- Jesus Christ will one day return to establish His kingdom.
Every day children participate in a Bible time in class. Children sing worship songs, memorize scripture, and will hear the entire Bible each year in class. (Age appropriate Bibles are given to each classroom.)
Cypress School Class Spotlight
Our Kindergarten students are off to a wonderful start! Each day, they are busy learning letters and sounds, strengthening their phonemic awareness, building early math skills, and growing in confidence as learners.
But what makes this class especially sweet is the community they are building together. This wonderful group of friends is kind, helpful, loving, curious, and full of fun. They work hard, encourage one another, and bring so much joy to their classroom each day.
We are so proud of all they are learning and love watching them grow!

Christmas Clubs Are Coming to Cypress!
Get ready for six weeks of Christmas creativity, sweet treats, and holiday cheer! We're excited to offer two special after-school clubs this Christmas season!
Christmas Baking Club with Ms. Kristen
For elementary students (1st–5th grade)
Young bakers will mix, measure, decorate, and create delicious holiday treats while learning kitchen skills and celebrating the joy of giving!
Christmas Ornament & Crafting Club with Ms. Carson
For students in Pre-K4 through 5th grade
Little artists will create beautiful handmade ornaments, festive decorations, and treasured Christmas keepsakes to share with family and friends!
Club Details:
- Dates: Wednesdays, November 4 – December 16, 2026
- Time: 2:30–3:30 p.m.
- Cost: $250 per student, per club (six sessions)
- Thanksgiving Break: No clubs November 25
- All supplies and materials included!
