Play, learn, thrive!
Our Pre K Classes are unlike any around. With low student to teacher ratios, an exciting and enriching curriculum, our children thrive under the expert tutelage of their experienced teachers.
Pre-K Program
Pre-K is a time of wonder, exploration, and discovery. At The Cypress School, we are dedicated to fostering a love of learning in each child by providing purposeful play, creative centers, hands-on sensory and art activities daily.
Preschoolers will experience opportunities to thrive in academic, social, emotional, and spiritual areas. In our large, bright classrooms, three and four year old learners will build, discover, create, communicate, and explore. They will engage in activities that develop their practical life /self care skills, work on strengthening their fine motor muscles which are an essential precursor for handwriting, and engage in daily sensory, art, and science projects.
Each morning we start with a Morning Meeting. During this time we sing, participate in calendar activities, record the weather, and greet our friends. This meeting time encourages social/emotional growth, friendships, and develops a sense of community. As we grow, we solve problems, work on public speaking skills, and build stamina in listening to stories.
Our teachers introduce topics like Force and Motion, the Solar System, habitats, and Dinosaurs. Through the use of these fun topics, students engage in theme-related activities designed to help them practice fine-motor skills including sorting, counting, writing, recognizing letter sounds, and following directions.
Academically, four year olds will begin learning their letters and sounds, develop number sense, count to 20, identify two dimensional shapes, and learn how to write their letters using the curriculum Handwriting Without Tears. Each week science and social studies themes will enrich their learning.
At The Cypress School, you are allowed to customize your child's schedule to best suit your needs. Half day and full day options are available. Our half day program is from 8:45- 12:00 and the full school day is from 8:45-2:30. You may choose the weekdays your child will attend.

This has been a wonderful school home for our child. The staff is very caring and demonstrates their extensive experience, and the environment is homey but professional.

I cannot say enough good things about this school. The owners/teachers are amazing. My 3-year old LOVES going and asks every morning if he gets to go. He is disappointed on the weekends! It's a very kind, loving, safe, joyful, and fun environment. Their approach to learning is hands on and engaging. I'm amazed at all the creative learning activities that they pack into the day. I am thankful for this amazing school! It continues to be an environment that brings joy and wonder into my child's life.
